It's not exactly shocking that Karl Rove is Going There. And hey, it's worked before.

But Mickey Kaus? While I bow to no one in my contempt for the old goat-blower, even I am a little surprised that he, too, is gleefully peddling this crap. (No direct link available for this, but click here and search for "johannsson" and you'll see what I mean). Once again -- nice job, Slate!

What strikes me is that the comments actually imply that white women can't make a political judgement xcept on the basis of how (purportedly) hot the (male) politician is. These comments, I'm saying, dis women more than anything else.

Mandingo? Their ignorance of Africa rivals their overall stupidity. The Mandingos are i n West Africa - in Guinea and nearby countries. Obama's father is from Kenya, about the distance from London to Moscow so saying Obama is "Mandingo" is like saying a Kennedy is a Russian since Ireland is in Europe!
